Allen, Charles H.

ALLEN, Charles H. (fl. 1864) is an obscure figure who may have resided in Saint John, New Brunswick. In 1864 he prepared a Gothic design for the Wesleyan Methodist Church, William Street near Queen Street, ST. ANDREW’S, N.B. (Morning Telegraph [Saint John], 7 Oct. 1864, 2, descrip.; J. Leroux & T. Holownia, St. Andrew’s Architecture 1604-1966, 2010, Item 67, illus., but lacking attribution to the architect). The church was completed by Allen in 1867 and is still standing in 2019.
