Perrine, Ren Brown
1873–1938
PERRINE, Ren Brown (1873-1938), active in Hamilton, Ont. in partnership with Bernard H. Prack (see list of works under Prack & Perrine). He was born in Minnesota on 3 January 1873. Before coming to Hamilton in late 1912 he was Chief Engineer with the Van Dorn Iron Works in Cleveland, Ohio, and he possessed ‘extended experience in all phases of reinforced concrete and structural steel design’. His knowledge proved useful to the firm, which completed more than twenty commissions for large industrial buildings in Canada between 1912 and 1917. Perrine left that office in December 1917 (biog. and port C.R., xxvii, 1 Jan. 1913, 61). Perrine later died in Cleveland, Ohio on 27 September 1938.
